School Holiday Fun at Marlborough District Libraries
Once again, local Libraries have proven to be a popular place for children and whānau over the school holiday period.
Peak times saw up to 90 people in the Children’s Library at Te Kahu o Waipuna at any one time.
Several activities were designed to keep young hands busy with Lego in a Cup and Drop-in craft. Tweens were catered for with paper engineering and puzzle sessions, while Teens could participate in self-directed games and activity sets. Family Movie Time each Wednesday (Picton) and Friday (Marlborough) was also well attended. Scheduled visits by Local Volunteer Firefighters and St John Therapy Pets were a highlight for young and old.
“It was delightful to see the smiles on the faces of some of our regular wheelchair users when settling in for Family Movie time, or engaging with the Therapy Pets” said Children’s Librarian Nikki Howard.
Now that school is back in session, Pre-schooler sessions resume at Te Kahu o Waipuna with Cheeky Monkey’s on a Tuesday and Play and Learn on a Friday.
