Pirate Day
Come and join us for some fun pirate activities at the Edwin Fox museum on Thursday 16 January. Inspired by the Marlborough District Libraries Pirate Adventure Summer Reading Programme, Pirate Day is a collaboration between Heritage Marlborough, Marlborough District Libraries and Marlborough Roads.
The Edwin Fox will host a family fun day from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. Marlborough author and illustrator Rina Pinker will be reading her book Captain Carrrrrrla and her magnificent, magical leg with her real-life Captain Carla making a special visit. There will be pirate costumes, pirate arts and crafts and the chance to eat and drink like a pirate.
On the day there will be no charge for children and a gold coin donation admission for adults to the Edwin Fox museum. Children need to be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons.
A pirate bus will be running between Blenheim and Picton. The bus is free if you dress up like a pirate but scurvy landlubbers without pirate dress pay $8 return for adults $4 return for children. Children under 5 and retired pirates with a gold card travel free. The bus departs Seymour Square at 10.10 am, Stadium 2000 at 10.12 am, Blenheim Railway Station at 10.15 am Spring Creek at 10.20 am.
