Database of the Week - Ancestry Library
This interactive family history resource is one of several databases provided free by Marlborough District Libraries. Normally only available at your library, it is now available to you at home until 31 July 2020, also for free. All you need is your library card number and PIN (usually your year of birth).
Census records, electoral rolls, immigration records and other primary source material can be accessed. You can also search public family trees – trees that other members of the Ancestry community have made available. If you are lucky you may find someone else has done the research for you, complete with links to sources and maybe even photographs of your ancestors.
Blank charts and forms are provided. These can help you make sense of the information you find. They can also highlight gaps and help you keep track of which records you have viewed.
Watch out for Family History courses run by Marlborough District Libraries where you can learn about other websites useful to genealogists, plus how to get the best out of AncestryLibrary.com
