Down the Rabbit Hole

Our very own Lis, from Picton Library has found herself down the rabbit hole. Lis is a keen reader but has just discovered the story telling abilities of Stephen King. Lis doesn’t enjoy horror, so until recently hadn’t read any Stephen King.

Lis admits she has fallen down the Stephen King rabbit hole. The book that started it all was Sleeping Beauties. Since her first experience with Stephen King’s writing, she has been consumed with reading more of his work. So far she has enjoyed, The Institute, Billy Summers, The Outsider and Revival.

She says that what sets Stephen King apart is his skill at writing, and in her opinion, his story telling is sublime. She doesn’t read horror but is actually considering reading one of his best known horrors. She is hoping the movie is worse than the novel.

Inspired by her new reading adventure, Lis has themed this month’s book club in Picton as books by Stephen King. She is hoping the group are as enthusiastic about his writing as she is.
