Code Club is an in-person experience where for one hour per week, youth (8 - 18 years old) can meet at the Library to learn and use code to build amazing things.
Our Code Club will meet every week from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm, Tuesdays at the Picton Library and Thursdays at Marlborough District Library (Blenheim).
You can bring your own laptop, tablet or Chromebook to Code Club if you have one, but the Library has some you can use if you do not own one.
To access Fiero Code at home, you need to be a Library member; to come to Code Club at the Library you do not need to be a member.
Our in-person Code Club is only for those aged 8 to 18 years old. Every Library member is able to use Fiero Code from home with their membership.
When you are first signing up for Fiero Code, if you are under 13 years of age, a parent or guardian must attend to give their permission. If you have already registered, a parent does not need to attend Code Club with you.
No pre-registration is needed. You are welcome to turn up when you can.
As Fiero Code is a self-paced learning model and you do not need to follow an order, you are welcome to drop in to Code Club anytime it suits - of course, it would be awesome if you wanted to come to every session.
Yes, Code Club is different to school, so we will run it even during the school holidays.
Coming to Code Club and using the Fiero Code software is completely free. There are no opportunities for making purchases within the software either.
You can access Fiero Code via our Digital Library.
